- Vials are designed for easy collection of specimens by individuals not trained in microbiological techniques and afford an excellent means of minimizing the adverse effects of delay in specimen transportation.

- The transport medium includes a pH indicator to detect acidic conditions that are not optimal for recovery of enteric pathogens.
